About Me

Creating An Inviting Yard

I have always been one of those people who loves to create a warm, inviting atmosphere for others, which is why I started looking at landscaping design in the first place. It was incredible to me to see how much of a difference I was able to make by adding a few new plants, and after that first project, I wanted to help other people. I started volunteering to help friends and neighbors do their landscaping, and after a few months, I had developed quite a following. This blog is all about creating a warm, inviting yard through smart landscaping and an eye for detail.

Four Money Saving Tips For Landscape Design

by Addison Washington

Every homeowner wants a beautiful landscape. Not only does it add to curb appeal, but it allows you to create your own little oasis in your own yard. This way, you have a place toe scape to outdoors whenever you want. However, landscape design can be a bit expensive, which is why it's worth it to consider these four money saving tips:

  1. Clean Up in Fall: Too often, people wait to clean up their yard until spring. While it's a good idea to clean it up in spring, it's even better to also work on the process in fall. This way, you are clipping away the dead stuff before it has time to build up and cause problems over the winter season. This is going to allow your plants to flourish once the spring season arrives.
  2. Wait Until Late Spring to Add: Once spring arrives, many people are eager to bring their landscaping back up to par. However, it's important to remember that your plants are going to need time to get back to their normal state. There are going to be leftover parts of the winter, such as mud and the occasional frost that are going to affect the way your landscaping looks for a while. This usually results in overspending on landscaping materials that aren't going to make much of a difference in the end.
  3. Do Projects in the Fall: Since your plants are usually full time thriving by the time fall arrives, you should plan on landscaping projects at this time. However, you should start the planning in summer when it's easier to see gaps in landscaping that you want to fill. Once you star the project in the fall, it is going to get plenty of water and time to grow before spring arrives.
  4. Remember Landscape Design Should be Permanent: Just like a home remodeling project, you want it to be permanent in order to save money. For this reason, it's important to plan your landscaping design carefully and take it seriously instead of constantly settling on new trends in landscaping. Instead, choose a design you are happy with and that actually works for your home that won't require much maintenance, which is another reason people spend too much money on their landscaping over time.

When you consider these four tips, you can save money while still creating a beautiful landscape design for your home that you are going to be happy with. For more information, contact a company like All Season Landscaping.
